2011 Community Builder Campaign

Jan 10. 11

When choosing our COMMUNITY BUILDER product, you not only look after your retirement, you also help your local branch make a very important contribution to build your own Community. Stop by your Branch today to learn more about the Community Builder Special.

The featured Term will be a 3Year Re-investable Deposit @ 2.4%! Members have the option to re-invest the funds on both the first and second anniversary dates should interest rates rise in the future.
This year, we are donating funds to the following four local community groups from the Hazeltons to the Lakes District based on the amount of funds deposited to Community Builder Special product at each branch.

The Hazeltons: The Hazelton Figure Skating Club
Houston & District: HSS Community Wellness Space
Lakes District: The Mother Millie Fund
Smithers: Northwest Animal Shelter Society

The Hazelton Figure Skating Club offers children a chance to learn skating skills with coach Stacey Brown. The season runs from October to March and there are about 30-40 club members each year. The Houston Secondary School is planning to install a fitness facility in the gymnasium that would be available to students and to the community. The Mother Millie Fund is operated in conjunction with the Burns Lake Vet Clinic and funds raised go towards the spaying/neutering and other medical care of the stray animals that find their way to the clinic. The Northwest Animal Shelter continues to move closer to its goal of building an animal shelter to service the Bulkley Valley. NWASS is a local group of volunteers who are actively involved in promoting responsible pet ownership

From 2002 to 2010, the donations totaled over $157,000 to the local community groups chosen to be the beneficiaries of the Community Builder Campaign. 2011 marks the tenth year of offering this special for new RSP contributions, regular deposits, renewing deposit funds, and funds transferred in to the credit union as well.
