A Very Successful Fundraiser!
May 17. 10

Congratulations to the organizers of the recent fundraiser Bar-B-Que that raised over $3000 to help a Smithers family with their current battle with cancer. Wren was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer in December 2009. This two year old little girl has undergone chemotherapy and surgery recently to remove the tumour at BC Children’s Hospital and the next steps will involve more chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and possibly radiation treatments.
The staff at Bulkley Valley Insurance Services in Smithers hosted the Bar-B-Que and found great support from their neighbouring businesses to help make the event a tremendous success! Thanks to The Sausage Factory, Paul’s Bakery, McBike, Bulkley Valley Wholesale, The Peak, The Interior News and Bulkley Valley Financial Services for donating goods and services to see that every penny raised went to Wren and her family. Bulkley Valley Credit Union was also proud to support the event.
Bulkley Valley Insurance Services will continue to accept donations to Wren (photo below) and her family in the coming weeks.
