On Thursday December 8th, the Telkwa contigent of BVCU Staff were on location at the Telkwa barbeque grounds to assist in the presentation of the major donation of $30,000.00 to the Bulkley Valley Kinsmen Club. Bulkley Valley Credit Union is proud to be the Platinum sponsor of the Band Stand Legacy Project that will be built in the spring and early summer of 2012.

Telkwa BBQ Grounds Improvement Project - 100th Anniversary Celebration
The Bulkley Valley Kinsmen use the BBQ grounds each year to hold a community event and raise money. All the money raised at the Kinsmen BBQ is put back into the community each year through community projects, bursaries, grants and gifts to Non Profit Organizations.
The Bulkley Valley Kinsmen are preparing for the 100th Anniversary of the Telkwa BBQ. The Anniversary Celebration will take place in 2012. The Bulkley Valley Kinsmen are working to make improvements to the Telkwa BBQ Grounds.
The Goals of the improvement projects are to:
- Maintain and improve BBQ grounds and community hall to increase use
- Maintain and improve BBQ grounds to increase users satisfaction/experience
- Maintain a safe venue for BBQ
- Create a concert venue for the Village of Telkwa, Smithers and the Bulkley Valley
The BVKinsmen have raised $173,500 of approx $220,000 needed. We are pleased to announce the Bulkley Valley Credit Union is a Platinum Sponsor of the Telkwa BBQ Grounds Improvement Project.
