Houston Library Community Place Project

The Community Support Committee in Houston recently made a donation to the Houston Public Library for their Community Place Project. The Library will be hosting events for youth beginning in the new year. These events include pizza nights, movie nights, game nights and other programs that would encourage the local youth be become involved in the library. The pizza and movie night held at the end of October saw over 40 young people in attendance.
The donated funds from BVCU were used to purchase gaming consoles and games to be played. In keeping up with technology, the library has been proactive in acknowledging this trend and is looking for creative ways to engage youth and to promote the library in a new way.
