Ski Club very happy with funding

Bulkley Valley Credit Union presented the Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club with a cheque for $5,000 to assist with the purchase of grooming equipment for the club’s ski trails. These proceeds came from the Bulkley Valley Credit Union’s Economic Development fund.
In 2005, Bulkley Valley Credit Union established an Economic Development Committee, comprised of staff, board members and volunteers, who are responsible for disbursing funds to applicants within our communities. To-date our Economic Development Committee has donated over $245,000 to over 50 groups in our service area – our service area extends from the Hazeltons’ through to the Lakes District. The Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club was incorporated as a Society in 1987. The club manages over 26km of ski trails in the Morice Mountain recreation site 8km south of Houston on the Buck Flats Road. The trail system has varied terrain with easy to difficult trails. If you don’t have skis, they offer a ski rental service. The club has a supply of skis, boots, and poles to fit small kids to the largest adults with a $2 rental per item. In the off season you can enjoy well groomed trails for hiking, cycling and horseback riding.
