Community Funding

Economic Development Committee

In 2004, Bulkley Valley Credit Union created an Economic Development Fund. These moneys are distributed through our four Economic Development Committees based in each of our branches. The purpose of the committees is to foster development in all of the communities that Bulkley Valley Credit Union serves. Committee members review written requests for funding for specific economic development projects from community groups, businesses, and individuals in each of our communities. If you are interested in learning more about the criteria and applying for funding or other support for your community project, we may be able to help. You can download our economic development request form here and mail, fax or bring it in to your local branch. Questions about criteria should be directed to the branch manager in your area.

Some of the local projects that have benefited from our Economic Development Fund in the past three years are:

Bulkley Valley Community Forest
Burns Lake & District Chamber of Commerce
CFDC – Community Workshop
Energy Centre of the North
Ksan Historical Museum
Misty River Community Arts Council
Northwest Premium Meat Co-op
Pleasant Valley Learning Communities
Regional District Bulkley-Nechako; Lakes District Airport Society
Smithers Exploration Group (SEG) – Phase II NWCC
Team BC – Small Communities
Upper Skeena Development Centre – Labour Market Project
