6th Annual Show n Shine

Jul 26. 07

Bulkley Valley Credit Union held our 6th Annual Member Appreciation Barbeque and Show n Shine on July 7th at our Houston branch. The sunshine and our new Bulkley Valley Insurance office construction brought out a lively bunch of people.

Lunch was on us and we were glad to have the Houston Volunteer Fire Department out to barbeque over 500 hamburgers and 150 hotdogs.

Bulkley Valley Credit Union raffled off a Broil King BBQ which raised over $850 for Topley 4H. The donation was a surprise to the 4H Club but was greatly appreciated. The donated funds will go towards animal equipment and educational purposes.
Roni Hull (pictured above) was the lucky winner of the Barbeque and felt the $5 ticket was was money very well spent !!

The Topley 4-H club has approximately 45 members and is the largest sheep club in BC. They take pride in hand shearing their sheep, which is a difficult skill to acquire.
They will be attending the Bulkley Valley Exhibition in Smithers this year.
All animal categories; beef, horse and sheep will be judged so stop in to see their hard work.

We are very pleased to have supported a wonderful organization, which teachs youth the 4-H motto:
 My HEAD to clearer thinking
 My HEART to greater loyalty
 My HANDS to larger service
 My HEALTH to better living
Also, "Learn to do by doing".

We look forward to another Show n Shine next year and Good Luck to all Topley 4-H individuals.
