Calling all POETS in Houston

In conjunction with Spirit of BC Week, the Houston Public Library and the Spirit of BC Committee are sponsoring a poetry contest. The contest is open to all residents of Houston. 

Write a poem!  Really, that’s all there is to it.  It can be any kind of poem you like as long as it’s about living in Houston!

There will be four age categories:

  • Children ages 6-12
  • Youth ages 13-17
  • Adults ages 18-59
  • Seniors ages 60+
  • The top 10 poems in each category will be published in the first Spirit of Our Pleasant Valley Poetry book (yet to be titled) this fall.

    Submit your poem by 4 p.m. Thursday, February 12 by:
    a) delivering it to the Houston Public Library - 3150 - 14th Street
    b) e-mailing it to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

    Please include your full name, age category and phone number with your submission.
