Central Park Building receives funding
Mar 04. 10
The home of the Smithers Art Gallery and the Bulkley Valley Museum has welcomed the recent attention from BVCU and the Town of Smithers!
The Central Park Building, one of Smithers’ few heritage buildings, has received some well-deserved attention in the form of energy-efficiency improvements. Federal Gas Tax grants administered by the Town of Smithers and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako have been awarded to purchase and install a new boiler and to insulate the third floor ceiling and attic spaces. The Bulkley Valley Credit Union’s Community Support committee has also awarded $1000.00 towards improving insulation in the building.
The Central Park Building is home to the Smithers Art Gallery, the Bulkley Valley Museum, Creative Roots Performing Arts, and the Bulkley Valley Genealogical Society. It also provides space for many artists and musicians who share their expertise and talents to residents of the Valley. The recent support offered will ensure that the building continues to be an integral part of Smithers for many years to come.
