THANK YOU! The COMMUNITY BUILDER Campaign was very successful in 2007 thanks to you.The members of Bulkley Valley Credit Union took advantage of the special rates offered and because of your deposits in the first 60 days of 2007, BVCU was able to make important contributions to four community groups.

As part of the campaign and our continued commitment to each of our communities, we made donations totaling more than $26,500 to the following community groups from the Hazeltons to the Lakes District.

The Hazeltons: Eagle Down Trail
Houston: Silverthorne PAC – Playground Project
Lakes District: Lakes District Arts Council
Smithers: The Meadows Assisted Living Facility

From 2002 to 2006, more than $87,000 has been contributed to the local community groups chosen to be the beneficiaries of the campaign. The recipients in the Lakes District have been Burns Lake & District Health Care Authority, the Burns Lake Rotary Club, the Tennis Court Project, and the Burns Lake Public Library Expansion Project. The recipients in Houston have been The Houston Senior Housing Society and the Houston & District Curling Club. In Smithers, the recipients have been the Cancer Treatment Room at the Bulkley Valley District Hospital, the Affordable Recreation Committee, the Old Church Restoration Project, and the Second Sheet of Ice Committee. The recipients in Hazelton have been the Wrinch Memorial Hospital, the Displaced Workers’ Fund, the Hazeltons’ Salvation Army, and the Wrinch Memorial Foundation’s Supportive Living Housing Project.
