Cops for Cancer
Oct 01. 08
The Cops for Cancer traveled through our area for the Tour De North towards the beginning of September.
The Tour de North was comprised of approximately 30 riders and support staff representing Northern BC RCMP detachments. They departed on September 5th from Prince George and finished on September 11th in Prince Rupert. During the 870km ride, the tour stopped in Hazelton on September 9th where they were presented with a cheque from all four of the Bulkley Valley Credit Union branches in the amount of $500. The total amount raised in the Tour de North is approximately $167,162.
All proceed raised in the Tour de North will stay in the North. The funds raised will help support emergency financial support for families with cancer, support services, prevention, research, information and supervised camps for children with cancer.
