Earth Day

Apr 22. 09

Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22, 2009.

Earth Week in the Bulkley Valley is April 20 to 25 and it is a great time to help many others create an overall awareness about our environment and changing our habits and to make a positive impact on climate change. Everyone can do their part just by rethinking their consumption habits:

- save water,
- turn off unnecessary lights,
- make the most of your programmable thermostat and lower the temperature when you can,
- don’t just turn off those electronics that are not in use, unplug them,
- replace the standard light bulbs in your home with energy-efficient ones,
- double side all of your printed and photocopied jobs,
- recycle your bottles, cans, cardboard, and plastic bags,
- carpool, ride a bike, or walk to work.
- PLANT A TREE!
- PLANT A TREE!
- PLANT A TREE!
Bulkley Valley Credit Union is proud to announce that it has partnered with Wet’suwet’en Nation and Woodmere Nursery and developed a carbon sequestration project this year where 2000 fast growing Spruce seedlings will be planted in Wet’suwet’en lands as a restoration. Woodmere Nursery has donated the seedlings for the project and Bulkley Valley Credit Union will provide the planting costs.
