Earth Day 2008
Apr 18. 08
Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22, 2008.
Earth Week in the Bulkley Valley is April 21 to 26 and it is a great time to help many others create an overall awareness about our environment and changing our habits and to make a positive impact on climate change. Everyone can do their part just by rethinking their consumption habits:
- save water,
- turn off unnecessary lights,
- make the most of your programmable thermostat and lower the temperature when you can,
- don’t just turn off those electronics that are not in use, unplug them,
- replace the standard light bulbs in your home with energy-efficient ones,
- double side all of your printed and photocopied jobs,
- recycle your bottles, cans, cardboard, and plastic bags,
- carpool, ride a bike, or walk to work.
- PLANT A TREE!
Tuesday, April 22 is also the 66th Annual General Meeting of the Bulkley Valley Credit Union and we invite all of our members to join us at 7:00 pm at the Hudson Bay Lodge. We will be presenting all of our guests this year with a special thank you gift for attending the meeting, a tree. Thank you for doing your part in your community and on our earth.
