Lakes Winterfest Means Winter Fun in Burns Lake!!

Winterfest 2007 was a busy time in Burns Lake over the Feb 9 �11 weekend!The annual event celebrating winter fun in the Lakes District was filled with activities.
The weekend kicked off with the Winterfest Parade winding its way through the streets of Burns Lake leading families to a lake-front bonfire with hot dogs and chocolate.
Other events included a Winterfest colouring contest, mini-golf, snow golf, crib tournament, community pancake breakfast, giant soccer, kid�s sledding and other activities.
One of the highlights of Winterfest was the Coldsmoke 200 mile snowmobile Ice Race.
The race, held on Burns Lake had riders from all over the region thrilling onlookers with racing at speeds up to 190 kmh.
Congratulations to Burns Lake�s Nolan Miller for winning the event for the 2nd year in a row.
Bulkley Valley Credit Union was proud to be involved throughout Winterfest
including a prize winning float in the Winterfest parade,
co-sponsoring hot dogs & chocolate at the community bonfire and, along with the Village of Burns Lake, sponsoring the children�s colouring contest for kids up to 12 years old.
