Operation Good Deed in the Hazeltons
Sep 10. 07
Initiated out of the New Hazelton detachment, Operation Good Deed" is a program dedicated to building relations between members of the RCMP and the youth in the Hazelton communities. This program allows RCMP to take a proactive role with the youth where the interactions will be positive.
The ultimate goal is to assist youth in asset building, fostering positive reinforcement and good behaviour, and improving youth self-image/self-worth. The focus of the program is to reward youth for such things as wearing a bicycle helmet, being involved in community initiatives, or possibly even just using the crosswalk. The Hazeltons branch of the Bulkley Valley Credit Union has helped raised $600 to-date this year for Operation Good Deed. The total funds that the branch raised in 2006 was $730. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the RCMP in the Hazeltons for their commitment to making our communities a better place to call home!
