Supporting ED Project in the Hazeltons

The Bulkley Valley Credit Union’s Economic Development Committee provided $5000 to the Upper Skeena Development Centre’s project “The Senden Sustainable Agriculture Resource Centre.”
The Upper Skeena Development Centre has a new project on the horizon. The Centre wishes to develop a feasibility study and business plan for its new project “The Senden Sustainable Agriculture Resource Centre”. The intention of starting this business is to establish a social enterprise that will meet multiple objectives in the Hazeltons area. Specific objectives for the project include: employment support, business support, sustainability for USDC, and improved food security in the Upper Skeena area.
The Upper Skeena Development Centre is a non-profit organization that was established in 1998. USDC assists with the development and implementation of initiatives which promote and enhance economic sustainability in the Upper Skeena. They provide access to technology and other resources to sustain social, economic and educational development.
