Supporting the Local Food Banks & Hamper Programs

Jan 02. 07

Bulkley Valley Credit Union and Bulkley Valley Insurance Services were very happy to support the local food banks and Christmas Hamper programs in December. Cash donations were made in each of our communities from the Hazeltons to the Lakes District to help those in need during the special time of year. The total of the cash donations was in excess of $2350.00.

Funds in Houston were raised through the sale of “Mambo” the 2007 credit union moose as well as the staffs’ annual holiday fund raising efforts. Nicky is shown here making the cheque presentation to the Salvation Army representative from the Houston office. In addition to cash donations, family Christmas hampers were put together by the staff in Houston and in Smithers and the Houston staff also volunteered at the Salvation Army Kettle on a couple of occasions to help with the organization’s very worthy cause.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff and volunteers of the local Salvation Army and Christmas Hamper offices for all of their hard work and bright smiles that truly make a difference in each of our communities.
