Quickly and securely deposit cheques with your smartphone or tablet. So whether you’re at coffee with friends, at work, or staying up late to get your banking done—from now on any time is the right time to deposit cheques.

Say goodbye to line ups at the branch and at the ATM. And say goodbye right now by downloading our app to your mobile device. Once you do, you’re ready to Deposit Anywhere.

What is Deposit Anywhere™?

  • Deposit Anywhere is a new feature on our mobile app that allows you to deposit cheques by taking a photo of them and submitting them to our financial institution, anywhere, anytime.

How do I get Deposit Anywhere?

  • Deposit Anywhere is available in the BVCU Mobile App. Download the app here or access the app store from your mobile device.

How do I use Deposit Anywhere?

  • Depositing a cheque with Deposit Anywhere is easy. Open up our mobile banking app, tap the “deposit” button, select the account you’d like the funds deposited to, enter the amount, take a photo of the front and back of the cheque, confirm the details and tap “submit”. The funds will then be deposited securely into your account.

Are there any fees for using Deposit Anywhere?

  • Fees are set by the financial institution.

What types of cheques can I draw on?

  • You can deposit checks payable in Canadian dollars and drawn at any Canadian financial institution. They must be payable to, and endorsed by, the account holder.

How will I know if there is an issue with my deposit after I submit the cheque?

  • In the rare circumstance that there is an issue with the deposit after you receive confirmation during the deposit, you will be contacted by us.

Do I have to mail in the cheques afterwards?

  • No. Once you have submitted the cheques using Deposit Anywhere, you do not need to send the cheques to the branch.

What should I do with my paper cheques afterwards?

  • The cheques should be destroyed after 90 days.

What happens if I enter the wrong amount by mistake?

  • Sometimes mistakes happen. But not to worry, we will double check all the information to ensure the right amount is deposited quickly and securely into your account. Can I use the funds right away?

  • Similar to deposits at an ATM or in the branch, there are often holds on the item and the funds may require time to clear.

  • Mandatory Mask Requirement

    Bulkley Valley Credit Union (BVCU), Bulkley Valley Financial Services (BVFS), and Bulkley Valley Insurance Services (BVIS) take the health and safety of our staff, members, and the community very seriously.

    Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have actively followed provincial guidelines to ensure a healthy and safe experience for everyone in our buildings. This includes the mandatory mask requirement that came into effect on November 20 across British Columbia. This new restriction states that masks must be worn in all indoor public settings. Members who do not comply can be refused entry or service.

    With CRA Direct Deposit, Canadians can receive payments such as: income tax refund, benefits and credits such as the Canada child benefit (CCB), the goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit, Canada workers benefit (CWB), and provincial and territorial payments such as the Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB). Eligible Canadians can also receive COVID-19 support benefits such as the Canada Recovery Benefit, Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit and Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit directly into their bank account.
