Smithers Launches Emergency Notification System

May 31. 18

Are you a Smithers resident? On May 22 the town of Smithers launched their local Emergency Notification System which will send out alerts to residents in various emergency situations. Messages will be sent to users on their preferred method of contact: cell phone, home phone, text, email or work phone. This system allows residents to respond to the alert. The system is powered by Everbridge which also has an app for smart phones which can also send non-emergency alerts such as service disruptions, when taxes are due as well as recreational programs. If you would like to sign up to receive emergency notifications visit the Town of Smithers website or call the Smithers Fire Department at 250-847-7015 Ext. 2
