Getting Started

There are two CEBA application streams. Before beginning the CEBA application, there is particular information beyond basic business details that the member should have ready.

For the Payroll Stream: for businesses with total employment income paid to employees in 2019 greater than $20,000 and less than $1,500,000.

  • Member Number. Members can find their member number in MemberDirect; Once logged in to MemberDirect the member number is displayed on the main Account Summary page
  • Canada Revenue Agency Business Number (BN) (15 digits), as reported at the top of the 2019 T4 Summary of Remuneration Paid (T4SUM)
  • Employment income as reported in Box 14 of the 2019 T4 Summary (T4SUM) T4 Summary of Remuneration Paid. (Between $20,000.00 and $1,500,000.00)

For the Non-Deferrable Expenses Stream: for businesses with eligible non-deferrable expenses greater than $40,000 and less than $1,500,000.

  • Member Number. Members can find their member number in MemberDirect; Once logged in to MemberDirect the member number is displayed on the main Account Summary page
  • Canada Revenue Agency Business Number (BN) (9 digits)
  • Electronic or paper copies of Receipts / Invoices / Agreements to be uploaded as evidence of your 2020 Eligible Non-Deferrable Expenses.

For incorporated businesses under this stream:

  • Net business income as reported on Line 400 shown on the corporate T2 return

For unincorporated businesses under this stream:

  • Most recent filed T1 General (2019 or 2018)

 

Eligibility Criteria

The CEBA eligibility criteria have been set by the federal government. For questions related to the government’s eligibility criteria, members can visit https://ceba-cuec.ca/ .

 

How to Apply

Members complete the CEBA application in Bulkley Valley Credit Union’s Online Banking service (MemberDirect or MemberDirect Small Business). Please note that the application is not available through BVCUs mobile app.

If members cannot access online banking, please contact a BVCU Investment Services Representative for assistance.

To access the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) Form through MemberDirect:

  • Log in to online banking  (desktop only)
  • In the left hand menu, select "Account Services"
  • In the submenu, select " Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA)"
    • All fields are required unless indicated as an optional field. If data is missing or incomplete, it will be indicated in RED. These errors must be resolved before the applicant is permitted to proceed to the next page.
    • Fields are not validated to the banking system.
    • There are options to print on the confirmation pages of the CEBA application. This is the only opportunity the member has to print the application.

 

Please note that under the Non-Deferrable Expenses Stream there will be a two-step process:

Step 1: As noted above through MemberDirect Small Business

Step 2: Members will proceed to a CEBA website to provide supporting documentation of their 2020 Eligible Non-Deferrable Expenses and to complete the application. http://application-demande.ceba-cuec.ca

  • Mandatory Mask Requirement

    Bulkley Valley Credit Union (BVCU), Bulkley Valley Financial Services (BVFS), and Bulkley Valley Insurance Services (BVIS) take the health and safety of our staff, members, and the community very seriously.

    Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have actively followed provincial guidelines to ensure a healthy and safe experience for everyone in our buildings. This includes the mandatory mask requirement that came into effect on November 20 across British Columbia. This new restriction states that masks must be worn in all indoor public settings. Members who do not comply can be refused entry or service.

  • Direct Deposit for CRA

    With CRA Direct Deposit, Canadians can receive payments such as: income tax refund, benefits and credits such as the Canada child benefit (CCB), the goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit, Canada workers benefit (CWB), and provincial and territorial payments such as the Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB). Eligible Canadians can also receive COVID-19 support benefits such as the Canada Recovery Benefit, Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit and Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit directly into their bank account.
