COVID-19 sms Scam Alert

Be on alert…

There are SMS (text message) scams going on in our area.

How it works:

You receive a text message from a company you know and that you may have a subscription with. The message suggests that you are eligible to receive a refund and to click a link to receive your refund. Once the link is clicked you are asked to put in your banking information.

STOP!

Do NOT enter any information, including your bank account or your personal information will be compromised.

Bulkley Valley Credit Union will never contact you by SMS (text message) and ask for you to provide your online banking credentials.

• Never reply to text messages from unknown senders.

Bulkley Valley Credit Union will never contact you by e-mail and ask you to provide your online banking credentials.

• In general, never provide personal information when contacted by unsolicited e-mails or phone calls.

If you receive a text message, email or a phone call from someone claiming to be us that you believe is suspicious please call your local branch or office.

  • Mandatory Mask Requirement

    Bulkley Valley Credit Union (BVCU), Bulkley Valley Financial Services (BVFS), and Bulkley Valley Insurance Services (BVIS) take the health and safety of our staff, members, and the community very seriously.

    Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have actively followed provincial guidelines to ensure a healthy and safe experience for everyone in our buildings. This includes the mandatory mask requirement that came into effect on November 20 across British Columbia. This new restriction states that masks must be worn in all indoor public settings. Members who do not comply can be refused entry or service.

  • Direct Deposit for CRA

    With CRA Direct Deposit, Canadians can receive payments such as: income tax refund, benefits and credits such as the Canada child benefit (CCB), the goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit, Canada workers benefit (CWB), and provincial and territorial payments such as the Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB). Eligible Canadians can also receive COVID-19 support benefits such as the Canada Recovery Benefit, Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit and Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit directly into their bank account.
