Term Deposits

If you’re looking for a secure investment to add to your portfolio, term deposits with Bulkley Valley Credit Union will help you earn a good return on your money without facing many of the risks inherent in other investments. Our range of products is designed to be flexible and competitive to meet your specific needs — terms from 30 days to 5 years, redeemable or non-redeemable, compounding or non-compounding, automatically renewed or not, and your choice of interest payment frequencies (annually, semi-annually, quarterly or monthly). With a minimum deposit of $1000 ($100 for youth accounts) our terms are affordable no matter what your budget.

Accumulator Term Deposit:

This is an installment term for which the member determines an investment amount he/she would like to save over a certain
period of time. The member agrees to make regular installments to the term as specified in the investment agreement.

  • interest calculated on daily closing balance; paid annually
  • non-redeemable fixed rate — terms 1 - 5 years
  • minimum installment amount
  • Registered Plan eligible (RRSP)

U.S.-dollar Term Deposits:

U.S.-dollar term deposits are available in term lengths of 1 to 5 years with a minimum deposit amount of $1000.

What is NOT guaranteed? Credit Union membership equity shares and investments such as mutual funds or RRSP equity plans are not covered by deposit insurance.

    The COVID-19 situation is evolving.  Today we were notified that one of our employees in the Smithers Branch has been confirmed with having the COVID-19 virus.  The employee last worked on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

    At this time, the employee is resting at home in self-isolation and is doing well.
