Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs)

A government-approved plan for the purpose of providing post-secondary education funding for a beneficiary.

Tax Free Savings Account (TFSAs)

TFSAs allow you to invest money in an account without being taxed on the earnings. The elimination of taxes on earnings and capital gains will help your savings grow faster. Unlike an RRSP or RESP, a TFSA can help you save for any purpose. There are no restrictions on the way the funds in the account are used and no time constraints for using the funds.

Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs)

RRSPs offer the best way for Canadians to save for retirement. Not only do you get the benefit of a tax deduction for the amount contributed, but your money grows tax free as long as it stays in the RRSP. Furthermore, if you wait until you retire to start making withdrawals from these funds, you may enjoy the benefit of a lower tax rate than when you are working.

A RRIF can help you live comfortably once you have retired.

  • payments available monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually
  • member decides on investment options
  • funds may be withdrawn from variable at any time

 

Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)

The RDSP is a savings plan designed specifically for people with disabilities in Canada. This tax-deferred savings vehicle is intended to assist parents and others in planning for the long-term financial security of their relatives and others with disabilities that are eligible for the Disability Tax Credit.
